Out of nowhere, Mike Huckabee has emerged as the new leader in polls, putting him ahead of Romney, Rudy, and others. A few months ago he as a total unknown. Now, everyone is talking about him. Reporters can’t get enough of him. Is he peaking too soon? We’ll find out.
The thing about him is that he’s been mostly unknown. And his record hasn’t been scrutinized as deeply as others. Now that he’s a front-runner, that may change soon. To be honest, I was starting to like what I was hearing from him in speeches and debates. I thought maybe, we’ve found the real conservative in the pack.
But hold on a minute. Facts are starting to emerge. We’ll cover that next time. Suffice it to say, he has the momentum now to win Iowa. After that, who knows.

So now that he’s won Iowa and come in much better than expected in New Hampshire, what do you think?

By the way, welcome back. You may have noticed that I hadn’t written much in a while either. But I’m back in the saddle. Are you getting back in as well?

Ron,
Yes, I’m back and getting a little more interested in this race. At first, I was very disappointed in the field as you can tell from my previous entries. I’m still not real excited, since no real leader has emerged. However, it is interesting to see how these candidates mold themselves in trying to capture the biggest piece of the pie.
I see you are backing Huckabee. I’m still not sure about him as his record on immigration and criminal pardons looks real weak. He also raised taxes in Arkansas. We’ll see how he comes out of this scrutiny.
